I recently made the journey up to my favourite second hand store. It's a funny little shop in that it's kind of half junk shop, half antiques. Everything is squeezed into tiny areas and piled high above your head requiring you to really dig around as treasure could be hidden
anywhere, and you're just as likely to find someone's old trainers as you are a priceless Victorian antique. You really never know what you're going to find, and because the shop is so disorganised many people simply can't be bothered so things are often discounted.

This was my recent haul which I'm absolutely smitten with. I can't help but collect homewares for my new home I hope to have this year, and these orange flowered curtains were just too perfect to pass up. They looked a little tatty in the shop so I bought them for next to nothing, and you can see all they needed was a spin in the washing machine and an iron and they're as good as new. The scarf was something I grabbed absently on the way to the counter, liking the design and knowing the colours would suit a large portion of my wardrobe. It wasn't until I got it home and looked up the brand I realised it was a 60s original, which was a nice surprise as I expected it to be a modern reproduction. The little vase I couldn't pass up for only 50p (and it matches my curtains so well!).

I've been on the lookout for the
perfect white handbag for a long time, and I finally found it! It was incredibly dirty when I found it, I wasn't even sure if it was indeed white or perhaps a cream but decided to take a chance. I bought it home and gave it a good clean and it came up so nice! It still has a few scuffs around the edges, but nothing terribly noticeable and it doesn't bother me a bit, I like my things to look as if they've had a life. When I was cleaning it, I opened the clasp and turned it upside down and this old penny and little sewing kit fell into my lap. It was quite a shock: currency changed in 1971, is it really possible I'm it's first proper owner in so long? I decided to keep both items in the inner pocket of the bag, it seems a shame to part them after so long, and maybe the penny will bring me luck!
I also felt very lucky when I visited a local secondhand store. I don't collect cassettes, I hadn't even looked at one in about 15 years, but for some reason I felt drawn to have a little look through them and ended up striking gold:

Anything of Ringo's solo work is incredibly hard for me to find locally so I really flipped finding this! It also filled me with a sense of nostalgia, I always preferred cassettes to CDs when I was growing up and clung on to buying them until the record companies no longer made them. I have no idea what happened to my collection from so long ago, but I feel inspired to perhaps start a new one. Nothing as extensive as my vinyl collection, but just a few of my most favourite albums. I could also do with finding something to play them on of course!
